Former Dubois County Bomber Gonzalez Drafted 7th by the Pirates

Nick Gonzalez started for the East team in the 2018 Ohio Valley League All-Star Game at Christian County's Colonel Field. Gonzalez was taken 7th by Pittsburgh in Wednesday's MLB Draft.

New Mexico State infielder Nick Gonzlaez, who played for the Dubois County Bombers in 2018, was taken seventh overall by the Pittsburgh Pirates in Wednesday’s Major League Baseball Draft.

Gonzalez was an All-American infielder for the Aggies and led the nation in hitting in 2019 at .432.

Gonzalez was named an Ohio Valley League All-Star in 2018, a season that saw him hit .379 with three home runs and 38 RBIs.  He batted 9-for-19 (.474) with four RBIs in four games against the Hoptown Hoppers that season.  Gonzalez was a starter in the OVL All-Star Game at Christian County’s Colonel Field, going 1-for-3.
