While not final, most of Trigg County’s boys’ basketball schedule for 2020-21 has been set and will include a visit from one of the nation’s top players.

Marshall County will make its first trip to Trigg County since 1990 when the Marshals and Wildcats meet on Monday, January 4.  The Marshals were First Region runner-up in 2020 and feature Western Kentucky commit Zion Harmon, who was listed in the top 20 of the Class of 2021 by ESPN this week.

Trigg County is 4-15 all-time against Marshall County with their last meeting in the 2018 HoopFest.  Marshall County’s last trip to Wildcat Gym was a 78-60 win over Trigg in 1990.  The two schools played on the final Friday night of the regular season every year from 1976-90.  Trigg hasn’t beaten Marshall County since 1982.

The Wildcats will also have its earliest season opener since 1963 when they play in the St. Mary Christmas Classic Nov. 23-27.  The Wildcats will open with Ballard Memorial on Monday, Nov. 23 — three days before Thanksgiving.

The 2020-21 season is starting a week earlier than normal due to Rupp Arena hosting NCAA Tournament first-round games in 2021.

Trigg County will also play in the Dental Designs of Owensboro Christmas Classic at Whitesville Trinity Dec. 28-29 with a field that includes Adair County and South Warren.

Trigg County’s first home game is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 4 against Hopkins County Central.
