
With a social culture that appears to be undergoing change, the NCAA is encouraging its athletes to be engaged in the process. In a statement issued Friday afternoon, NCAA President Mark Emmert and the Board of Governors designated November 3 as a day off from athletic activities so that athletes could “vote and participate in their ultimate responsibility as citizens.”
The statement went on further to encourage students to “continue to make their voices heard on these important issues, engage in community activism, and exercise their Constitutional rights.
