With Governor Beshear’s guidelines allowing for the resumption of “low touch” outdoor athletic activities to resume in the state, with up to 50 spectators, on June 29, some high schools in the eastern part of the state are taking advantage of the opportunity to get in some summer baseball action.
According to a post on their Facebook page, Ashland High School will begin a schedule of summer baseball games on July 2nd. Several of the games are being played against out-of-state competition, but there are a handful of other Kentucky schools on the Tomcats summer baseball schedule. Those schools include Greenup County, Raceland, and Lawrence County.
The schedule of games for Ashland begins July 2nd and runs through July 29th.
The Governor’s official guidelines for June 29th state “Low touch, outdoor youth sports and athletic activities may resume competition with up to fifty (50) spectators following the Healthy at Work social distancing Guidelines for Groups of 50 people or fewer. Competitions, practices, and other activities must adhere to the social distancing guidelines.”
