
Dee Leavell has witnessed the rise of the Christian County wrestling program as an assistant coach for five years. Now, the Colonel alum takes over the reins of a program that finished as state runner-up in 2020.
After placing at state on the mat for the Colonels, the 2009 graduate had a successful wrestling career at Campbellsville University. He was a nationally ranked wrestler and qualified for the national tournament. Leavell also earned Academic All-Mid-South Conference honors three straight seasons.
He joins a long list of former Campbellsville wrestlers who are now in the coaching ranks.
Leavell said he is ready to continue to tradition of the program started by Jim Perrin and continued by Robert Burnham, who announced he was stepping down after 16 seasons as Colonel head coach.
