A solid summer on the golf course continued with a third place finish for University Heights Acedemy’s Jiles Wyatt Wednesday. Wyatt shot a round of 6-over par 77 in the Boys 15-18 division during the Bluegrass Golf Tour’s stop at the Hopkinsville Golf & Country Club.
Wyatt’s round of 77 placed him six shots back of the winner, former UHA teammate Weston Wood, and two shots back of Sammy Greenwell, of Marion.
Wyatt was right in the thick of things when he made the turn, after shooting a one over par 36 on the front nine.
However, a bogey on #10 and a double bogey on #12 left Wyatt too much of a gap to recover from, especially as Wood was able to maintain his lead with five straight pars to close out his round.
