The Kentucky Prospects amateur baseball program will be hosting a collegiate baseball league to run for the next six weeks.
The Kentucky Prospects Collegiate Baseball League will begin Monday with games to be played in Paducah over the next six weeks. The games will be played each Monday and Thursday.
There are approximately 36 players from western Kentucky that will be split into two teams. The players range from junior college to Division 1 players.
According to a post on the Prospects’ Twitter site Thursday, former Second Region players slated to play include Mississippi State’s Drew McGowan (UHA); Murray State’s Trey Hutchison (Union County); Northern Kentucky’s Bryce Thomas (Caldwell County); Lindsey Wilson’s Cade Duncan (Union County); Southeastern Illinois’ Cameron Head (Livingston Central); Rend Lake’s Gabe East (Caldwell County); Rend Lake’s Jase Felker (Caldwell County); Southeastern Illinois’ Cameron Dean (Livingston Central); Southeastern Illinois’ Coy Burns (Union County); and Western Kentucky’s Lane Duigiud (Christian County); Also playing in the league is former Heritage Christian Academy Warrior Weslee Choate, who plays college ball at Shawnee.
Games will begin at 6:30 each night at Brooks Stadium, which opened in 1949 and was in danger of being dark for the summer for the first time in the stadium’s history.
