The Kentucky Prospects 16U team got off to a big start in their appearance in Nashville this week. The Prospects scored 11 runs in the first two innings as they rolled to a 15-2 win over CBA Southeast 16U Wednesday afternoon.
Lyon County Lyons Gunnar Bingham and Luke Gilbert helped lead the offensive onslaught for the Prospects. Bingham went 1-3 with a double, a walk, a run scored, and an RBI. Gilbert finished the game 1-2, with a double, two RBIs, and a run scored.
Caldwell County’s Logan Smiley was 0-1, but had two walks, drove in a pair of runs, and scored a run.
Lyon County’s Jackson Shoulders was 0-1 with a run scored. Hopkinsville’s Jacob Dilday was 0-2, but did add a run scored to his effort.
On the mound, Luke Gilbert saw one inning in relief. He gave up no runs on one hit during his time on the mound.
The Prospects 16U improved their summer record to 8-1.
