
James Folz shook off the front nine woes that bothered him Monday and rebounded Tuesday with a 48th place finish at the Kentucky Junior PGA Championship at Gibson Bay Golf Course in Richmond.
The Hopkinsville senior shot a first-round 81 Monday but followed up with a round of 76 on Tuesday. The difference was the front nine that saw him go out with a 42 in the first round and shoot 2-over on Tuesday.
Madison Central freshman Warren Thomis, playing in his hometown of Richmond, won the tournament going away by seven shots. He had six birdies in a first-round that saw him shoot a 4-under 68. His second-round featured four birdies and a bogey and saw him come in with a 69.
