Wall Leads Marshall County Golfers at Junior PGA Championship

Marshall County golfer Trey Wall followed up a first-round 74 at the Kentucky Junior PGA Championship with a 78 on Tuesday to finish tied for 27th place.

The opening Junior PGA event for the summer was played at Gibson Bay Golf Course in Richmond which played at 6,908 yards for the two-day event.

The Marshall County sophomore had two birdies in the first round and 13 pars in opening with a round at 2-over.

On Tuesday, Wall had three birdies and seven bogeys.

Wall’s teammate at Marshall County, Camdyn McLeod, finished tied for 54th place at 16-over par.  McLeod shot a 79 in an opening-round that featured no birdies.  He came back Tuesday with an 81.

Madison Central freshman Warren Thomis, playing in his hometown of Richmond, won the tournament going away by seven shots.  He had six birdies in a first-round that saw him shoot a 4-under 68.  His second-round featured four birdies and a bogey and saw him come in with a 69.
