7-1-williams

Lyon County junior-to-be Brody Williams is getting an early jump on the college recruiting process by announcing his commitment to Kent State University to continue his baseball career.  Williams made the announcement on social media Wednesday.

As a freshman, Williams hit .298 with 15 RBIs in helping Lyon County win the school’s first All-A region title.  Behind the plate, he threw out 18 runners trying to steal and had a .975 fielding percentage.

Williams plays for the Kentucky Prospects 16U travel baseball team during the summer.

Kent State plays in the Mid American Conference and was 7-7 before COVID-19 ended the college baseball season. The Golden Flashes were 30-24 in 2019.  Kent State has produced five players that are on current Major League Baseball rosters.
