Madisonville’s Kaitlyn Zieba corrected the front nine woes that plagued her in Wednesday’s first-round to finish tied for tenth place at the Kentucky Girls’ Junior PGA Championship in Richmond.
The Lady Maroon junior shot a 43 on the Arlington Golf Club front nine Wednesday and finished her first round with a 12-over 84.
In Thursday’s second round, Zieba string together eight straight pars from No. 3 to the 11th hole that had her round at 1-over at the turn. Despite scuffling a bit at the end with double bogeys on two of the last three holes, she finished the round at 6-over for a two day total of 18-over. She finished 17 shots behind the winner, Bullitt East sophomore Macie Brown.
