This was not the announcement that many college sports fans were hoping to hear at this point of the summer. According to CBS Sports’ John Rothstein, the Ivy League has decided to cancel not just fall sports, but all sports for their member institutions until at least January 1st.
Rothstein put the information out in a tweet Wednesday afternoon.
Winter sports at the league’s schools will have an update in mid-July.
Reports indicate there is an outside chance that fall sports in the Ivy League could be moved to the spring.
