Jackson Hill birdied two of the first three holes and shot an even-par 72 to finished tied for 10th Thursday at the Kentucky Junior Amateur at Boone’s Trace National Golf Club in Richmond.
The Madisonville junior then parred five of the next six holes to make the turn at 1-under. Hill scored a birdie on the par-4 11th hole to reach 2-under for the round but bogeyed holes 12 and 14 to pop back above par at 1-over. He closed out his second round with four straight pars to finish at 1-over.
For the two-day event, Hill finished at 1-under par. He was six shots behind the winner, Lexington Sayre freshman Hayden Adams who chipped in for birdie on the first hole of sudden death to defeat Rylan Wotherspoon of Florence.
