James Folz overcame a rocky start in the final round of the Kentucky Junior Amateur to shoot 2-over par and finish the two-day event tied for 27th place.
The Hopkinsville senior began his day at Boone’s Trace National Golf Club in Richmond with a double bogey. He battled back to make the turn at 2-over thanks to a birdie on No. 6. Folz birdied 12 and 14 and finished the back nine with an even-par 36.
After a first-round 75, his second round 74 put him at 5-over for the two-day event which was good for a 27th place tie.
Lexington Sayre freshman Hayden Adams chipped in for birdie on the first hole of sudden death to defeat Rylan Wotherspoon of Florence and win the individual title at 7-under.
