Webster County’s Grant Puckett improved one shot from day one to day two and finished tied for 27th Thursday at the Kentucky Junior Amateur at Boone’s Trace National Golf Club in Richmond.
The upcoming senior shot identical 37s on each nine Thursday that included a birdie on No. 16.
In Wednesday’s weather-delayed first round, Puckett shot a 3-over 75. He finished the two-day event at 5-over par and in a tie for 27th.
Lexington Sayre freshman Hayden Adams chipped in for birdie on the first hole of sudden death to defeat Rylan Wotherspoon of Florence and win the individual title at 7-under par.
