Sammy Greenwell got his day off to a strong start and claimed a 17-shot win over his Crittenden County teammate Landen Crider Friday at the Kentucky Junior PGA stop at Kentucky Dam Village State Park.
Greenwell, who will be a senior in the fall, made the turn at even-par after a front nine that featured two birdies and two bogeys. He shot a 4-over 40 on the back nine to finish his round with a 4-over 76.
Crider, who will also be a senior this fall, carded a 93 and finished tied with Murray’s Aidan Poston. Hayden Engler of Eddyville was fourth with a 94.
