Christian County and Caldwell County took the winner and runner-up positions in this year’s YourSportsEdge.Com/First Financial Bank Girls Golf “Fan Faves.”
Christian County’s Hannah Sumner pulled in the most votes this year. Sumner is headed to Lindsey Wilson College to play golf after a stellar senior season for the Lady Colonels. Sumner was named to the All-Region Golf Team by the Kentucky Golf Coaches Association after qualifying for the state tournament. She finished eighth in the 2nd Region tournament at Central City with a 12-over-par 83. Sumner missed making the cut at state by just one shot.
Caldwell County’s Claire Knoth finished in second place in this year’s voting. Knoth, a freshman, tied for 16th at the 1st Region golf tournament at Paxton Park in Paducah by shooting an 88. Knoth had a 10th-place finish in the Franklin-Simpson Invitational in August at Franklin Country Club, shooting an 81 in that event.
