A big performance this week for Hopkinsville’s James Folz. Folz came up with a 2nd place finish at the Bluegrass Golf Tour’s Junior Series–18-H Tour Championship at the University Club-Big Blue in Lexington.
Folz actually finished in a 3-way tie for first place, but lost out to Andrew Bennett, of Louisville, in the tiebreaker.
Folz opened play Tuesday with an even par round of 71. He shot 35 on the front nine and finished out with a 36 on the back nine. Folz had four birdies and four bogeys on the round.
Folz came back Wednesday and shot a four over par 76. Folz was consistent on the day, shooting a two over par 38 on both the front nine and the back nine.
Folz would end up in a 2nd place tie with Logan Liles, of Vanceburg, who also shot a four over par for the event.
