Landon Hunt set a tour record score Thursday in winning his seventh GO Series event of the summer.
It was a good day on the golf course for the Hunt family as Landon shot a tour record score and little sister Harper won the GO Junior Golf Series Championship Thursday at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club.
Landon shot a 2-under 33 on the front nine to win the 11-12 age division by 11 shots over Madisonville’s Jake Witherspoon. Hopkinsville’s Brady Hightower and Madisonville’s Max Clayton tied for third place with a score of 45.
Landon also won the tour championship for the summer, winning seven of the eight GO Series events he played in. Madisonville’s Treyson Raymer was the tour runner-up.

Meanwhile, Harper Hunt won the six-hole girls’ 9-10 age group with a score of 32. Allie Sandifer finished second with a score of 35 and secured enough points to claim the summer tour championship. Campbell Lindsey shot a 40 and finished in third place.
In the boys’ six-hole 9-10 division, Madisonville’s Will Burden capped off a summer tour championship by winning Thursday’s event with a score of 33. He was one shot better than Hopkinsville’s Nash McAfee, who shot a 34, and two shots better than Matthew Flynn and Jackson Crick, both of Hopkinsville.
Max Falco shot a 38 to finish fifth, and Spencer Pool of Trenton finished sixth with a 42.
