Caldwell County’s Tate VanHooser and Madisonville-North Hopkins grad Jonathan Hogart are national champions after their Evansville Razorbacks squad won the 18U Pastime National Championship Sunday in Indianapolis.
VanHooser was 2-for-2 at the plate as the Razorbacks defeated Kentucky Baseball Club 10-0 in the championship game.
VanHooser was 2-for-2 with an RBI and Hogart was 1-for-3 in a 10-1 semifinal victory over Indiana Nitro.
The Razorbacks went 8-0 in Indianapolis.
Hogart was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two runs batted in during a 13-0 win over the Top Picks Athletics on Friday. He also pitched a scoreless inning, striking out three in that game.
Hogart has signed to play his college baseball at Wabash Valley College.
VanHooser is a rising senior at Caldwell County High School.
