Carson Holmes shot 5-over par to finished tied for 18th place in the amateur division of the 84th Irvin Cobb Championships played over the weekend at Paxton Park in Paducah.
The Christian County alum and Murray State University golfer shot 1-over par in Saturday’s first round. He found Sunday’s windy conditions tough to handle at times off the tee and shot a 4-over 75 on Sunday.
Holmes finished eight shots behind the winner, Justin Johns of South Fulton, Tenn., who won the event in the three-way playoff.
