Christian County High School has named Toby Miles as its boys’ basketball coach which could have an impact on two different sports programs at the school.
Miles was 26-66 in three seasons as Hopkins County Central boys’ coach from 2010-13 after serving as an assistant coach at the school for eight seasons.
After not being asked to return in 2013, Miles went to Sycamore High School in Pleasant View, Tennessee where he was the boys’ basketball coach and athletic director.
Last year, Miles served as an assistant coach to Chad Burgett at Trigg County.
Toby’s son Jordan led Trigg County in scoring in 2019-20 as an eighth-grader at 12.3 points a game. He also led the team with 43 three-pointers made.
Jordan was also expected to challenge for the starting quarterbacking position for the Wildcats this fall.
Miles takes over a Christian County program that was 13-19 last season and advanced to the region semifinals. Kerry Stovall stepped down as head coach of the basketball team last month to take the Christian County district athletic director’s job. Caleb Nelson had been serving as interim head coach.
The Colonels graduated three starters from last year’s team but return three players that averaged eight points or more per game.
