One bad hole likely kept Claire Knoth from a top-5 finish in her 2020 season debut, but she was able to bounce back and finish 10th Friday at the Murray High Invitational.
The Caldwell County golfer had trouble keeping the ball in play on the par-5 16th hole at the Murray Country Club and settled for a quintuple bogey. Knoth was able to rebound and close strong to post a 15-over 88, tying for tenth place.
McCracken County’s Madison Glisson, a seventh-grader playing in her first varsity match, shot a 4-over 77 to edge Murray’s Mary Browder Howell by one shot. St. Mary’s Ellie Roof was third, and McCracken County’s Adeline Edwards was fifth.
