
James Folz bypassed the 2020 high school opener to play on one of the top golf courses in Tennessee over the weekend.
The Hopkinsville High senior finished tied for 29th at the AJGA Preview presented by Visit Sevierville/Tennessee Tourism. The two-day event was played at the Sevierville Golf Club which is ranked as one of the top courses in eastern Tennessee.
Folz opened with a 9-over 81 on the first day, managing just a single birdie on the river course.
He shot a 3-over 75 on the second day, eagling the par-5 seventh hole. He also had a pair of birdies to finish at 12-over for the tourney.
Rob Ferris, a junior from Roswell, Georgia, won the event at 4-under.
Folz returns to the course Monday to play in his senior season opener at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club.
