Emma Talley hopes to make another run up the leaderboard this weekend.
After having to do some work to make the cut last week, Talley rallied all the way up to a fifth-place finish in the Marathon LPGA Classic in Toledo.
A week later, Talley finds herself tied for 35th place heading into the weekend at the Aberdeen Standard Investments Ladies Scottish Open in North Berwick.
After a 2-over-par 73 in Thursday’s first round, Talley carded an even-par 71 in the second round on Friday.
Talley, who won three state championships at Caldwell County and a national title at the University of Alabama, is one of seven golfers tied for 35th — seven shots behind the leaders.
Stacy Lewis and Azahara Munoz lead the tournament through 36 holes at 5-under. Jennifer Song is next at 4-under.
Talley’s round on Friday included two birdies and two bogeys.
She hit 11 of 13 fairways while recording 12 of 18 greens in regulation. Talley cut her putts from 35 in the first round to 30 in round two.
Talley will get an early start in round three on Saturday. She will tee off at 8:29 a.m. in Scotland — 2:29 a.m. Central Daylight Time.
