It is the meeting that high school sports fans across the state are holding their collective breath waiting for, and the agenda for that meeting has now been released. The Kentucky High School Athletic Association Board of Control is set to meet Thursday morning at 10:00am eastern time.

The meeting date was set during a July meeting in which the Board of Control adjusted the starting dates for practices and competition for all fall sports, except golf, which began official competition at the end of July. The purpose of this week’s meeting was to review where things stood moving towards the start of fall athletics and to lock in championship dates for all fall sports except golf and football.

The agenda for Thursday’s meeting has three items. The main item that fans across the state are watching is item #3, which has to deal with the consideration of the fall season scheduling calendar and the potential resultant ramification that calendar has on other sports seasons. Whether or not that means another delay in the start of fall sports, or a possible move of fall sports to the spring, is yet to be seen.

The other items on the agenda are a review of the four year enrollment figures as they impact football, and setting dates for the 2020-2021 dance and competitive cheer championships.
