Freshman Austin Crick shot an 87 to lead Caldwell County’s young squad Saturday at the 2nd Region All A Classic tournament at Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club.
Crick had some trouble early in the round after heavy rain left much of the field struggling.
Crick made the turn at 46, but shot a 41 on the back nine to finish at 15-over-par 87.
Eighth grader Collin Whittington also did much better on the back side after course conditions improved. He shot a 49 on the front and a 42 on the back for a 91.
Sophomore Camden McGregor shot 104, freshman Ryan Hammett 105 and sophomore Cannon Littlejohn 112 in their first regional All A rounds.
The Tigers placed third in the team standings with a 387.
Crittenden County won the championship with a 358 while Dawson Springs was second at 370.
Dawson’s Gage Smiley was individual medalist with an 81.
Jiles Wyatt of University Heights was runner-up with an 82.
The top team and the next two best scores qualify for the state All A Classic next month at Gibson Bay Golf Course in Richmond.
