Crittenden County’s depth paid off Saturday in the 2nd Region All A Classic golf tournament.
When No. 5 golfer Evan Belt came in with an 82, the Rockets had claimed the team championship at Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club.
All of Crittenden’s golfers advance to the state All A Classic next month at Gibson Bay Golf Course in Richmond.
Crittenden’s No. 3 player, Landen Crider, was next for the Rockets with an 88.
The tournament’s top golfers teed off first Saturday morning and had to endure miserable conditions following an early downpour at the Hoptown course.
Sammy Greenwell, who teed off in the lead group, shot a 48 on the front nine before carding a 43 on the back for a 91.
Jeremiah Foster, who was in the second group to tee off, shot a 102.
Avery Belt had a 97 for the Rockets.
Meanwhile, Evan Belt had a 38 on the front before finishing with a 44 on the back for his 82.
Crittenden recorded a team score of 358.
That was 12 shots better than runner-up Dawson Springs.
Caldwell County was third at 387.
Dawson’s Gage Smiley was medalist with an 81.
Jiles Wyatt of University Heights was individual runner-up at 82.
For the ladies, Brylee Conger and Addie Hatfield tied for sixth place with identical scores of 110.
