The Kentucky All A Classic fall championships are set to take place, with some revisions in the setup for two of the three sports involved, and one date change for a sport. The Kentucky All “A” Classic Board of Directors announced Sunday evening that they had voted to tentatively conduct their fall statewide events, with those modifications.
For golf, the dates for the girls’ and boys’ championships will remain unchanged. The girls’ events will take place on September 12, with the boys’ championship set for September 13.
The state All A soccer championships will remain September 26 & 27, however, the girls’ and boys’ tournaments will take place at separate locations. The boys’ tourney will be played in Frankfort at Capitol View Park, while the Frankfort site for the girls’ tournament has not been announced.
Volleyball will see a change in date and format for the 2020 All A championships. The state tournament will take place on October 10th at Eastern Kentucky University. That is a change from the original dates of September 18-19. Additionally, only eight teams will travel to Richmond for this year’s state tournament. A sectional round will take place this year, with the odd-numbered regions hosting.
So, the winner of Region 1 will host the winner of Region 2, and the winner of Region 3 will host the winner of Region 4.
All-A officials note that schools may opt-out of any fall sports competitions with no penalty.
