Shuffling of games due to COVID-19 and the loss of an out-of-state opponent will see Christian County play an eight-game football slate in 2020.

A later than normal start to the fall sports season due to COVID-19 concerns saw Kentucky football teams lose the first three weeks of their seasons.  Many schools were able to reschedule a replacement game to fill their prior bye week and add another game on Nov. 6 with the postseason pushed back a week.

The first two games on the Christian County schedule are unchanged.  The Colonels will open their season Sept. 11 at Madisonville and play Hopkinsville Sept. 18 at the Stadium of Champions.

Christian County was scheduled to host Pope John Paul II of Tennessee following the Hopkinsville game, but guidelines announced by the KHSAA restricted out-of-state games to counties that border Kentucky. The Colonels were able to move a home game with Henderson County from week three to Sept. 25.

The Colonels will play three district games in the following four weeks.  Christian County will play at Greenwood Oct. 2, host Bowling Green Oct. 16, and travel to South Warren Oct. 23.  Their bye week will be Oct. 9.

Christian County will host McCracken County Oct. 30 and Caldwell County on Nov. 6.  The Caldwell game was moved from week one.

The Colonels are looking to bounce back from an 0-11 season in 2019 against teams that were a combined 68-30 last year and won 10 playoff games.
