After reaching the 2nd Region volleyball championship game the past two seasons, the University Heights Academy Lady Blazers continue to hold a slot as one of the teams that could contend for the regional championship in 2020 in the eyes of the area’s volleyball coaches. The Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association released its preseason 2nd Region volleyball poll Thursday, with the Lady Blazers coming in among the Top 5 in the 2nd Region.
UHA was voted into a 5th place tie with the Crittenden County Lady Rockets. Caldwell County was the preseason #1, with defending champion Henderson County coming in at #2. Christian County and Hopkinsville were in a tie for third.
The Lady Blazers finished the 2019 season 30-6, losing a tough 5-set championship match to Henderson County. The Lady Blazers are set to open the season Tuesday night at home against Hopkinsville.
