Peyton Purvis tied for medalist honors to help St. Mary edge Marshall County by one shot to win the Marshall County Invitational Saturday at the Calvert City Golf and Country Club.
Purvis shot a 1-under 71 to finish tied with Marshall County’s Camdyn McLeod. Trigg County’s Hunter Reynolds shot even par to come in third, while Marshall County’s Trey Wall and Hopkinsville’s James Folz tied for fourth at 1-over par.
St. Mary’s team total of 309 was one shot better than Marshall County, who was playing without No. 1 golfer Jay Nimmo. The Mississippi State-bound golfer is playing in the AJGA Junior Players Championship this weekend at the TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
Trigg County was third, three shots off the lead.
