William Bryan scored six goals to lead University Heights to a 7-0 win over Lyon County Friday, giving the Blazers the All A Region title. With Fort Campbell not playing soccer this fall due to DoDEA guidelines and Caldwell County opting not to play in the All A in 2020, Friday’s match at Givens Field was for the region championship.
Bryan wasted no time getting the Blazers on the board, scoring four minutes into the contest. Both teams settled down after the goal although the Blazers controlled possession for the remainder of the half.
Bryan added his second goal in extra time just before the half to give the Blazers a 2-0 lead at intermission.
Just like he did to start the game, Bryan scored quickly to start the second half with a tally three minutes in for a 3-0 lead.
He added two more goals for a 5-0 lead in the 57th minute. Connor Dill got in on the scoring fun with a goal in the 74 minute. Bryan’s final goal came on a penalty kick just outside of extra time at the end of the match.
UHA controlled possession through the match, and the Blazer defense came up huge to keep the Lyons off the scoreboard.
The Blazers will travel to the First Region winner at a later date to determine the sectional winner. The Blazers are trying to advance to the All-A Classic State Tournament for a second straight year.
