
The Crittenden County girls’ cross country team kicked off the high school season with a strong showing at the Trigg County Mike Wright Cross County Classic on Saturday, with Kate Keller’s 2nd-place run highlighting the effort.
Keller finished the mile-and-a-half course in 9:55.64, just over four seconds back of winner Ainsley Smith of Calloway County. Keller’s teammates did their part as well, and the team matched her 2nd-place finish.
Ella Geary was 16th with an 11:34.53, with Kara Fulkerson also posting a top-25 finish with a time of 12:23.07. Mary Martinez was 26th with a 12:29.29, Leah Long finished in 13:34.50, and Karsyn Potter crossed the line in 13:41.84.
