Due to impending bad weather on Saturday evening, the afternoon session of the Trigg County Mike Wright Cross Country Classic was run with varsity boys and girls together. Madisonville-North Hopkins runners excelled, with Tyler Bruner and Drew Burden going 1-2 for the boys, and Katie Gillette running 2nd for the girls.
Bruner won with a time of 8:26.04, followed by Burden with an 8:29.77. Ryland Bergman also recorded a top-5 finish with a time of 8:47.82, with Maddox Knight a spot back at 8:52.69.
Nicholas Tooley was 10th with a run of 9:28.77, Alex Pendley finished 11th at 9:33.89, and Gavin Beard was 14th with a 9:53.73. Skylar Ball ran in the top-20 with a 9:54.88, as did Airamis Stone with a 9:55.89.
Andrew Potocnik crossed the line at 10:01.26, Ayden McDonald ran a 10:50.22, Mitchell Mayes finished in 11:10.12.
For the girls, Gillette led the way in 2nd with a time of 10:52.20, with Audrey Tate taking 7th with an 11:31.04. Kamarie Wiles was 12th with a 12:13.03, Josie Morris was next with a 12:27.31, and Nyssa Stone finished in 14:57.92.
