Coming off an appearance in the KCAA State Soccer semifinals, Heritage Christian Academy is looking to make a deeper push in the postseason in 2020. The Warriors opened the season Friday with a 6-0 win at the Academy of Individual Excellence in Louisville.
Kris Ruth scored the first two goals of the game for the Warriors in the 25th and 29th minutes. Ryan Trapnell and Vova West each added a pair of goals to boost their lead.
HCA was able to control possession throughout the contest, and the Warrior defense made things manageable in goal for Jacob Young, who had seven saves.
Ruth, Walker Ashby, and Makyah Rich each had an assist for the Warriors.
Heritage Christian’s game with Lawrenceburg Saturday was canceled due to weather. The Warriors will play its home opener Saturday against Trinity Christian.
