Just about two weeks into the 2020 girls soccer season and the pandemic has caused some scheduling issues. Otherwise, the defending region champs head up the list in the first YSE 2nd Region Girls Soccer Super 7 of the season.
- Henderson County (3-1) – The Lady Colonels have not given up a goal to a team from south of the Ohio Rivers. The defending champs look like they will be a tough out once again.
- University Heights (2-1) – The Lady Blazers were rolling until they ran into a very good Ohio County team. Matchups with Henderson and Madisonville looming over the next 11 days.
- Madisonville (0-3-1) – Their schedule has been brutal. The big question for the Lady Maroons involves the injury to Camryn LaGrange. Without their scoring machine, it may be tough for Madisonville to make a deep run at the regional title.
- Caldwell County (3-0) – The pleasant surprise of the early season has been the play of the Lady Tigers. Only two goals given up in their first three matches. The toughest issue so far is being able to play in the midst of a pandemic.
- Hopkinsville (3-1) – This group of Lady Tigers has only given up a goal in one match so far. That was in a 6-1 loss to an up and coming Caldwell County team. Couple of tough ones on the way.
- Hopkins Central (2-1) – Shawn Oakley has the Lady Storm playing pretty well here early in the season. Their only loss coming to unbeaten Caldwell County.
- Trigg County (2-1) – The Lady Wildcats appear to be the class of the 5th District. Their September 21 contest against Lyon County will tell us more about who is the top in that part of the region.
