
Heritage Christian Academy’s young cross country team ran in the Gatorland Classic Saturday at Phil Moore Park in Bowling Green.
Cadyn Travis finished 11th in the elementary boys’ race, covering the mile-and-a-quarter course in 8:49. Aaron Hensley was 12th in 8:50. Ben Hensley finished 18th in 9:06. They were followed by Jordan Staeks in 45th [10:44], Graham Davis in 51st [11:51], and Sebastian Marguez in 55th [12:13].
As a team, HCA finished fourth out of seven schools with 104 points.
In the girls’ elementary race, Makenzie McCarty finished in sixth place, running the 1.25-mile course in 9:26. Genna Calhoun was 16th in 10:09 with Hannah Phelps finishing 31st in 13:13 and Mary Katherine Henderson in 32nd with a time of 13:30.
HCA did not field the five runners needed for a complete team score.
