The UHA volleyball team ran into a buzzsaw at the 2nd Region All “A” tournament on Saturday, falling 2-0 to eventual champion Caldwell County. The Lady Blazers drop their fourth-straight match, slipping to 1-4 ahead of a visit from Hopkins County Central on October 1.
The Lady Blazers found themselves trailing 15-4 after back-to-back aces by Caldwell’s Olivia Mitchell, and were unable to climb back into a 25-10 loss.
The second set mimicked the first, although UHA closed to within three points at 9-6 after an Evelyn Morales kill. Caldwell answered with an 11-5 spurt to force a Lady Blazer timeout and went on to a 25-14 title-clenching victory.
