Lady Maroon Golfers Finish 9th at All-State Tourney

Madisonville finished in ninth place at the Kentucky Golf Coaches Association All-State Tournament played over the weekend at the University Club of Kentucky in Lexington.

The two-day invitation only event features the top teams and golfers based on All-State points.

Kaitlyn Zieba was the top golfer for the Lady Maroons with a 22nd place finish at 22-over par.  The Madisonville junior shot an 83 on both the Wildcat and Big Blue courses.

Kat Weir finished in 44th place after improving eight shots to shoot an 82 on Sunday.

Karra Tucker shot 30-over and came in 50th place after carding an 87 on both days.

Stella Knight finished tied for 78th and Sydney Browning was 93rd.

Bullitt East’s Macie Brown won the individual title at 3-under par, while Marshall County had three golfers place in the top ten to win the team title.

The Lady Maroons will look to repeat as region champions Sept. 29 at the Region Two Golf Tournament at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club.
