Region One golfers claimed three of the top four spots Sunday at the Kentucky Golf Coaches Association All-State Tournament played at the University Club of Kentucky.
Marshall County seventh-grader Trinity Beth finished at 1-under par for the two-day event that features the top golfers in the state based on All-State points. Beth shot a 70 on Saturday in a round that featured three birdies and one bogey.
On Sunday, Beth had three birdies and two bogeys to finish one shot behind the winner, Macie Brown of Bullitt East.
Beth’s teammate Savannah Howell caught fire Sunday with four birdies in a round that saw her shoot a 70. She carded a 74 on Saturday. She was even par for the two days and finished in third place.
Howell and Beth paced Marshall County to a blowout win in the event by 32 shots over South Warren and defending state champion Lexington Christian Academy.
Megan Hertter tied for eighth place at 8-over par. Elsie Riley joined her Marshall County teammates on the course and finished in 67th place. Katie Roberts was 68th.
Meanwhile, Murray senior Mary Browder Howell finished strong Sunday with a 1-over 73 on the Big Blue course. She shot a 76 on Saturday. At 5-over, she placed fourth,
McCracken County seventh-grader Madison Glisson shot 14-over par for the two days and finished tied for 15th place.
Graves County junior Ellie West shot 23-over par over the two days and came in 33rd place.
The event covers two days and features the top golfers in the state based on All-State points.
The Region One Golf Tournament will be played next Tuesday at the Calvert City Country Club.
