Todd County Central will be making the school’s first appearance in the All-A Classic Girls State Soccer Tournament this weekend in Frankfort and will play 15th Region champion Prestonsburg.
The Lady Rebels used a penalty kick shootout to beat Glasgow 2-1 Saturday to win its third region title in four years. The previous three times, Todd lost to Third Region champ Owensboro Catholic in the sectional round. However, OCath opted out of the tourney this year paving the way for Todd County to advance to the state tourney.
The Lady Rebels [2-4] will face 15th Region champion Prestonsburg Saturday morning at 11 at Capitol View Park in Frankfort. Prestonsburg is 6-0 and have outscored its opponents 44-3. They defeated University Heights 3-1 in the first round of last year’s All-A state tourney.
All-A Classic officials said no general admission tickets will be available on the day of the tournament. Each school will be given a limit of 60 tickets. They also said face coverings for spectators will be required at all times, and no concessions will be available at the game site.
There will be no make-up date in the case of rain or inclement weather.
