Not a single change in this week’s YSE 2nd Region Volleyball Super 7. Caldwell County is entrenched for the time being as “the team to beat” in the 2nd Region. There are some contenders, however, who will have their sights set on the Lady Tigers as the postseason draws near.
– Caldwell County (5-1) – The Lady Tigers have not loss a single set to anyone but McCracken County, the only team to beat them. They are firmly positioned as the team to beat in the 2nd Region.
– Madisonville (6-1) – The Lady Maroons are rolling right along. The only blemish on their record was a loss to #1 Caldwell County, who they could face twice in tournament play at the end of the season.
– Henderson County (2-5) – The schedule at the beginning of the season has been tough. Their only loss in region has come to #2 Madisonville. And, the Lady Colonels are still the defending champs.
– Webster County (3-2) – Picked up a home court win over University Heights and then lost in straight sets to Madisonville. Still a team that could be a tough out when the time comes.
– Christian County (3-3) – At this point, the Lady Colonels appear to be the slight favorite in the 8th District. Still got some work to do as their straight set loss to Caldwell County would indicate.
– UHA (2-4) – All four losses have come to teams ranked above them in the Super 7. A team that will still be growing when the postseason arrives, and could still contend in the 8th District.
– Hopkinsville (2-6) – The Lady Tigers had Christian County on the ropes before the Lady Colonels closed out strong. Plenty of potential in this group if they get rolling on the right night.
