For the Trigg County girls’ soccer team, youth was served in Thursday night’s meeting with Paducah Tilghman, with two freshmen providing the goals in the Lady Wildcats’ 2-2 draw with the host Blue Tornado.
Trigg stops a four-game winning run for Paducah Tilghman, including three wins over 2nd-Region competition, while the Lady Wildcats move to 2-2-1 overall.
Trigg’s Camryn Boone found the back of the net for the first time this season, while fellow freshman Lania Hite chipped in her team-leading fourth strike of the campaign.
The Lady Wildcats were scheduled to return to the field on Saturday for a visit from Murray High, but after the Lady Tigers knocked off UHA on Thursday in the All-A sectionals they will have other obligations. As a result, Trigg will be off for a week until a trip to Lyon County on October 1.
