Chase Atkins’ first place finish helped lead the Hopkinsville Tigers cross country team to a 5th place finish at the Warren East Raider Twilight. Running in the gold division of the high school boys 5000, Atkins’ time of 15:59.8 put him nearly ten seconds in front of second place finisher Cole Jackson, of Greenwood. Cates Duncan, also of Greenwood, finished in 3rd place.
In the team competition, the Tigers finished with 115 points, putting them in 5th place. Greenwood won the division with 23 points. Bowling Green was second with 66 points.

In the girls’ competition at the event, Hopkinsville’s Hailey Cordero finished 54th in the gold division of the girls’ 5000 with a time of 32:54.8.
