The ducks on the pond at the CrossWinds Golf Course in Bowling Green may have been the only ones content with the weather on Monday, but it didn’t stop proceedings at the 3rd Region tournament. Five Todd County Central golfers braved the wind and rain, with Jase Paul Hampton and Jacob Brandon posting top-30 finishes.
Hampton led the way with a +12 84, overcoming a slow start to finish in a tie for 24th. He was 9-over on the front but calmed down to go +3 over the final nine holes, finishing with ten pars and eight bogeys.
Jacob Brandon was next with an 87, finishing +15 to tie for 30th place. He was 9-over on the front and plus-6 on the back with five pars. Preston Rager was 44th with a 92, including eight pars. After struggling on the front, he tightened things up to finish +7 on the back.
Ryan Williams and Cole Sawyers rounded out the Rebel effort, finishing with a 105 and a 106, respectively. Williams carded a couple of pars and improved by 3 strokes on the back nine.
