Dawson Springs’ girls cross country team ran Saturday at the 42nd Annual Marshall County Cross Country Invitational in Draffenville, while the boys’ team placed fifth.
Freshman Kimberly Hoover led the Lady Panthers with a 17th place in 11:28 over the 1.5-mile course.
The race was shortened from the normal 3.1-mile length due to COVID-19 recommendations from the KHSAA earlier this year that also saw the runners compete in waves throughout the morning to cut down on crowding the field.
Vanessa Tackett finished 59th in 14:21 followed by Ivory Tackett [70th] and Brianna Tossi [71st].
Dawson Springs did not field the five runners needed to post a team score.
On the guys’ side, Caleb Garrett led the Panther runners with a 22nd place finish in 9:18. He was followed across the line in 23rd place by Lucas Osborne in 23rd place.
Tyler Hale finished 26th, with Ethan Osborne 28th, Yosiyah McCune 45th, Michael Faughn 55th, and Logan McKnight 57th.
Dawson Springs finish fifth as a team with 143 points.
