Kate Keller brought home second place Saturday at the revamped Marshall County Cross Country Invitational.
The Crittenden County senior finished the 1.5-mile race in a time of 1-:24, which was 28 seconds behind the winner, Ainsley Smith of Calloway County.
The race was shortened from the normal 3.1-mile length due to COVID-19 recommendations from the KHSAA earlier this year that also saw the runners compete in waves throughout the morning to cut down on crowding the field.
Kara Fulkerson finished 22nd in a time of 12:09. Karsyn Potter was 41st in 13:16, and Leah Long was 56th in 14:12. The Lady Rockets did not field the five runners necessary for a team score.
Meanwhile, Rowen Perkins led the Crittenden boys runners with a 50th place finish in a time of 9:54. Nate Faith was 74th [10:36], and Gabriel Keller was 86th [11:06] as the Rockets finished in 15th place.
