Kate Keller Paces Crittenden Runners With 2nd Place Finish at Marshall County

Kate Keller brought home second place Saturday at the revamped Marshall County Cross Country Invitational.

The Crittenden County senior finished the 1.5-mile race in a time of 1-:24, which was 28 seconds behind the winner, Ainsley Smith of Calloway County.

The race was shortened from the normal 3.1-mile length due to COVID-19 recommendations from the KHSAA earlier this year that also saw the runners compete in waves throughout the morning to cut down on crowding the field.

Kara Fulkerson finished 22^nd in a time of 12:09.  Karsyn Potter was 41^st in 13:16, and Leah Long was 56^th in 14:12.  The Lady Rockets did not field the five runners necessary for a team score.

Meanwhile, Rowen Perkins led the Crittenden boys runners with a 50^th place finish in a time of 9:54.  Nate Faith was 74^th [10:36], and Gabriel Keller was 86^th [11:06] as the Rockets finished in 15^th place.
