After Saturday’s loss at Auburn there was no doubt in Kentucky coach Mark Stoops’ mind that Chris Rodriguez scored a touchdown in the final minute of the first half on a play officials ruled he was short of the end zone even after an official review.

“He was clearly in,” Stoops said after the game.

The coach said he didn’t get a “good explanation” for why it was not ruled a touchdown and two players later Terry Wilson threw an interception that swung the momentum all in Auburn’s favor in the 29-13 UK loss.

Monday I asked Stoops if he had got an explanation from the SEC office about what the ruling was. Did officials think his knee was down? Did officials think forward progress was stopped? Did officials just miss the call?

“I sent the film in. I can’t ever comment on what they tell me,” Stoops said. “I have not got that (comment) back yet. I will wait and hear the official word.

“It doesn’t matter. Unfortunately it doesn’t matter. Until something changes or somebody holds somebody accountable, we need to move on.

“What did it look like to me? Looked like he was a yard in the end zone.”

That’s what it looked like to everyone else, too, expect for the game officials and whoever was in the SEC replay booth in Birmingham.
